Drew has been waking up in the middle of the night to roll over.  Like clock work he gets up around 12:30am after rolling over and attempting to crawl only to get frustrated with his inability to make much forward progress.  That appears to be changing as he is starting to get the hang of locomotion – albeit slowly.  So in the meantime he will probably continue to get annoyed and cry out for some assistance.  On the other hand, once he masters crawling – what then?  Will he be banging his head against the wall once he’s covered the 2 feet of space afforded him?

Another development is his eating.  Given his offensive lineman growth projection it comes as no surprise that we may be giving him solid food soon.  He stares at us when were eating.  Studying our strange behavior. And now he’s starting to mimic us with mouth movements.  This may be another reason for him waking in the middle of the night.  He may just be hungry.  I know how he feels.  I had a PB&J at 2am while he was getting a snack from Mommy.

Some pics below offer insight into his stubborn behavior.  He’ strong enough that simply putting him on his back is no easy task and usually results in him immediately flipping over again.  I love that strong-headed little bastard.  He’s just like his Mom.

  1. Looking at IMG_0720, it seems he already has ‘cross in his blood. Drool like that only comes from two things:

    1. A hard, maximum effort on the cyclocross course or,
    2. A wicked bout of teething.

I suspect he might be just about tall enough to fit on my Redline.

  2. Judd – that kid could kick your ass at DC Cross.

  3. Dude…I thought you were talking about Max. Spooky!
