vigilia di magro

Christmas Eve in New York means eat’n is ON.  The Italian fish dinner was epic again.  This year 6 different types (including king crab, mussels, clams, shrimp, calamari, and scallops).  It often feels like a cage death match to see who bows out early and slips into a food coma.  I didn’t have my A-game, but was still slinging cake in my mouth when the clock neared midnight.  Those silly Italians know how to cook.

Last year Kim’s mom hosted.  This time her Uncle.  It’s a great place to celebrate – penthouse condo over looking the harbor and NYC skyline.  Some pix…

  1. Looks like a great condo w/spectacular night views and it would appear, great food, good company and a good time had by all.

  2. Dude I am jealous. I have been wanting to cook one of those traditional Christmas Eve “fast” dinners for years, but none of my inlaws eat seafood – and they are from a freakin island. Instead we eat mountains of pork. And rice and beans.
