Went to the Sigma Xi winter meeting last Thursday and met some nice folks, ate some good hors dourves, and then listened to a talk by Dr. John C. Mather.  He won the Nobel prize in physics for his work on proving the big bang theory.  My prize was walking away feeling rather insignificant.  Both in terms of my contribution to life in general and to science specifically.  I think I will stick to attending 8th grade science fairs where I can grasp the science of plate tectonics.
